TeamOB Online Database
Lesson 15: Cloud Database
Objective:
The objective of this guide is to provide users with a comprehensive understanding of how to access, set up, manage, and customize CloudDB tables within the TeamOB Portal. It outlines how to create dynamic storage tables, configure data fields, set sharing permissions, and generate custom applications, facilitating efficient business data management. Additionally, it covers the process of API integration to interact with CloudDB tables programmatically.
1. Accessing TeamOB CloudDB:
To access TeamOB CloudDB, users must first log in to the TeamOB Portal.
From the portal, navigate to the Cloud DB section and select Setup.
Users can create new tables by clicking the Add New button and filling in the necessary field values like table name, project name, and form type (Tabular or Form).
2. Setting up CloudDB Tables:
Setup is divided into Objects, Fields, and Sharing Rules.
Fields: You define the field names and their data types. You can link tables using custom objects or pull data from system-defined tables.
Sharing Rules: You can manage access permissions at the column level by making specific columns visible, hidden, or read-only for different roles.
Permissions like deletion rights and enabling GUI views are also configured in this section.
3. Viewing CloudDB Tables:
Users can access created tables by clicking on Setup to view the table list.
To create new records, users can click on the Create tab and enter the required information, then click Submit.
The View tab allows users to edit records by double-clicking on cells to modify values, with automatic updates.
4. Creating Custom Apps:
Navigate to Cloud DB > Apps to start creating custom apps.
Users can enter an app name, select an app icon, and optionally add the app to the top navigation bar.
Select cloud tables to be included in the app by transferring them between the left and right panels.
Once configured, the app is listed in the app list and the top navigation bar for easy access.
5. API Access to CloudDB Tables:
To get API access, users can click on CloudDB, then select Setup for the relevant table.
Under the Properties section, users can find and enable API access for their tables.
